Follow-up email
After a 1-to-1, CadenceOne drafts a summary email from the shareable half of the meeting. The app never sends anything itself: the draft opens in your mail app, and you send it.
Opening the preview
- Click Finish in meeting mode. The preview opens automatically.
- Or click Email preview in meeting mode, without finishing the meeting.
Filling in the email
- Template: Full summary is selected by default. The built-in choices are Full summary, Short summary, Actions only and Custom message, plus any email template you created.
- Recipient: pre-filled with the person's work email. If you type another address, it is saved to their profile when you open the email.
- Subject and Message: built from the template, and editable.
Changing the template rebuilds the subject and the message, which replaces any edit you made. Pick the template first, then edit.
What goes in
Depending on the template, the email can contain:
- Date of the 1-to-1.
- Topics discussed: shareable topics marked as covered, followed by the shareable notes and wins, in the order they were captured.
- Decisions.
- Actions: the promises made in this meeting, with their owner and due date. Completed promises are left out, unless the template includes them or Always include the promise list is on in Settings.
- Topics to revisit: the topics you deferred.
- Next meeting: the date of your next scheduled 1-to-1 with this person, or "to be scheduled".
- Your name, from Settings.
What never goes in
- Private notes.
- Topics neither covered nor deferred.
- The mood of the meeting.
- Development goals, and achievements added from the team member's page.
Sending
Click Open in Mail. The email opens as a draft in your default mail app, which is not necessarily Apple Mail. Read it, then send it from there.
- The button is disabled until the recipient is a valid address.
- If the message still contains an unfilled placeholder such as
{firstName}, CadenceOne asks for confirmation before opening it. - To receive a copy, turn on CC myself in Settings ▸ Emails. It needs your email address.
Rewrite with AI
On a Mac running macOS 26 or later with Apple Intelligence turned on, a Rewrite with AI button appears. It rewrites the message into smoother prose while keeping the actions as a list, with owners and due dates.
- It runs entirely on your Mac, with Apple's on-device model. Nothing is sent to Apple, to us or to any AI provider.
- It only receives shareable content. A private note is never passed to it.
- It replaces the whole message. Read the result before sending.
On other Macs the button does not appear, and everything else works the same.
